Latest Mountaineering and Trekking Permit Fees in Gilgit-Baltistan

Foreign climber royalty fees

• K2, 8,611 m: USD 12,000 for up to 7 members; USD 3,000 for each additional member
• 8,001 m to 8,500 m peaks: USD 9,500 for up to 7 members; USD 3,000 for each additional member
• 7,501 m to 8,000 m peaks: USD 4,000 for up to 7 members; USD 1,000 for each additional member
• 7,001 m to 7,500 m peaks: USD 2,500 for up to 7 members; USD 500 for each additional member
• 6,501 m to 7,000 m peaks: USD 1,500 for up to 7 members; USD 300 for each additional member
• Peaks up to 6,500 m: free royalty in the published PTDC table

Pakistani climber royalty fees

• K2, 8,611 m: PKR 30,000 per person
• 8,001 m to 8,500 m peaks: PKR 25,000 per person
• 7,501 m to 8,000 m peaks: PKR 20,000 per person
• 7,001 m to 7,500 m peaks: PKR 15,000 per person
• 6,501 m to 7,000 m peaks: PKR 10,000 per person
• Peaks up to 6,500 m: free in the published PTDC table

Environment and trekking fees

• Foreign expedition in restricted zones, peaks above 6,500 m: USD 200 per person per peak
• Foreign expedition in open zones, peaks above 6,500 m: USD 100 per person per peak
• Foreign trekkers in restricted zones: USD 150 per person per trek
• Foreign trekkers in open zones: USD 60 per person per trek
• Pakistan national expeditions for all peaks: PKR 3,000 per person per peak

Important permit conditions

• Additional fees can apply if a party applies for more than one peak
• Published GB Tourism terms state one permit is issued for one peak only
• A team normally has a maximum of 15 climbers where additional members are allowed
• Restricted-area mountaineering expeditions require a liaison officer
• For open-area expeditions, a licensed trekking guide may work as liaison officer under the published guidance
• Insurance certificates and operator responsibility are part of the GB Tourism permit advisory
