The expedition team gathered in Skardu for final preparation before moving toward Askole. Equipment checks, staff briefing, food packing, and route coordination were completed during the day.

Expedition officially started from Skardu. The team is preparing for the road journey toward Askole.

The K2 Expedition July 2026 began in Skardu with final preparations before entering the Karakoram. The team reviewed equipment, checked personal climbing gear, organized food loads, and met with the local support staff. Guides briefed the members about the route ahead, expected road conditions, and the gradual movement toward Base Camp.

Skardu served as the final major town before the expedition moved deeper into the mountains. The atmosphere remained focused and calm as the team prepared for the long approach toward K2.

The team left Skardu early in the morning and drove toward Askole, the last village before the Baltoro Glacier approach.

The team is in good condition after the road journey.

Skardu to Askole road movement completed.

The team departed Skardu in the morning and moved by jeep toward Askole. The road journey passed through rugged valleys, river crossings, and narrow mountain tracks. Askole marks the final village before the expedition enters the trekking route toward Baltoro Glacier.

Upon arrival, the team settled in, reorganized loads, and coordinated with porters for the coming days. The expedition is now positioned at the gateway to the Karakoram approach.
